Terms & Conditions
01.
Who are we.
TotoAfrica Organization is a non-governmental organization registered in Tanzania and operating from Arusha. We operate three skill-based volunteerism programs: The Finish Line Project, Career Circles, and Community Health Reach. Our mission is to connect skilled volunteers to specific, community-defined needs — not to place volunteers, but to match them.
When we refer to “TotoAfrica,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in these terms, we mean TotoAfrica Organization and its authorized representatives. When we refer to “you” or “the user,” we mean anyone who visits our website, applies to volunteer, or engages with our programs in any form.
02.
Accepting These Terms.
By using our website, submitting a volunteer application, or participating in any TotoAfrica program, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
For volunteers under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must review and accept these terms on your behalf before you participate in any program.
03.
What Our Website and Services Are
Our website provides information about TotoAfrica’s programs, allows volunteers to apply and be matched to programs, allows community partners and organizations to explore partnership, and shares content including blog articles, impact reports, and program documentation.
Our website and programs are provided free of charge to community participants (students, community members). International volunteers may be subject to program participation fees as outlined in their specific program agreement.
04.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers who participate in TotoAfrica programs agree to the following:
- Accuracy: All information provided in your application; including skills, qualifications, professional experience, and credentials must be truthful and accurate. Misrepresentation is grounds for immediate removal from any program.
- Code of Conduct: You agree to abide by Toto Africa’s Volunteer Code of Conduct, which forms part of your volunteer agreement.
- Safeguarding: If you work with minors or vulnerable community members, you agree to comply fully with Toto Africa’s Safeguarding Policy at all times.
- Commitment: You will honor the time commitment you agreed to when you were matched to a program. Where circumstances change, you will notify your program coordinator with as much notice as possible.
- Representation: You will not represent yourself as an agent or employee of TotoAfrica, or make commitments on behalf of the organization without written authorization.
05.

All content on the TotoAfrica website — including text, images, program designs, logos, and documents is the intellectual property of TotoAfrica Organization unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially use any of our content without written permission.
Content you contribute; such as volunteer testimonials, blog submissions, or program feedback remains yours, but you grant TotoAfrica a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, publish, and share that content in connection with our work. We will always attribute community voices appropriately and never use personal stories without consent.
06.
Limitation of Liability
TotoAfrica makes every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy of information on our website and the quality of our programs. However, we cannot guarantee that all information is error-free or that programs will always run as planned.
To the fullest extent permitted by Tanzanian law, TotoAfrica shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or participation in our programs. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under Tanzanian consumer protection law.
07.
Termination and Removal
TotoAfrica reserves the right to remove any volunteer from a program, with immediate effect and without prior notice, where:
- The volunteer has breached the Code of Conduct
- A safeguarding concern has been raised and is under investigation
- The volunteer has provided false information in their application
- The volunteer’s behavior is deemed harmful to any community member, student, or the organization’s reputation
In non-urgent cases, TotoAfrica will seek to resolve concerns through a fair process before taking removal action. Any removal decision may be appealed in writing to the Executive Director within 14 days.
08.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising from these terms or your engagement with TotoAfrica shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania, specifically those in the Arusha region.
09.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our programs grow and our legal obligations evolve. When we make material changes, we will notify active volunteers and partners by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of our services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The version date at the top of this document always reflects when it was last meaningfully revised not just reviewed.
