We don't place
Volunteers. We match
Skills To Needs.
Your expertise has a specific home in one of our programs. The matching process is how we guarantee that your time creates something that lasts after you leave.
This is not like other volunteer programs.
TotoAfrica does not have a “general volunteer pool.” Every person who volunteers with us has a specific role in a specific program, matched to the specific skills within one of our programs.
This means our process is more structured than most. It also means your time will not be wasted and neither will the community’s.
You are matched, not placed
Your skills are assessed and mapped to a one of our programs
You learn, not just give
Every program is designed for two way exchange. You will leave having learned something you could not have found anywhere else.
Your impact is measured
We track outcomes at 6 and 12 months after your program ends. You will see what your time actually produced.
You serve what communities asked for
Every program role exists because a community expressed that specific need. You are a response to a real request.
We are built for a diverse range of skilled people.
While it’s not customary for volunteers to have a pre-matched program, it is however a very effective way to connect, nurture and build memorable experiences by being around space you understand the most.
Students
Undergraduate & Postgraduate
Students bring fresh knowledge, peer-level energy, and academic depth that complements the life experience of professional volunteers. Particularly valuable in exam coaching, community health outreach, and peer mentorship roles.

Professionals
Mid-Career · 1–20+ Years Experience
Working professionals bring the insider view that changes careers. The real path not the polished LinkedIn version. Industry knowledge, professional networks, and the hard-won perspective that no classroom can teach.

Retirees
The Most Underused Asset in Volunteerism
Decades of expertise. Patience that comes only with experience. The ability to see around corners that younger professionals haven’t reached yet. Retirees are the most underused asset in volunteerism not here. They are the backbone of Career Circles.

BEST FIT FOR
Families
A Different Kind of Value
Families bring something that individual volunteers cannot, the experience of global citizenship shared across generations. Children who grow up participating in meaningful exchange carry a different understanding of the world into their adult lives.
